Macro Photos is an independent photography website at macrophotos.org. We share our own macro and close-up photographs so people can explore small details and use them in creative projects.

Our focus is simple: make useful photos easy to find, explain the available downloads, and give visitors clear rules for using each image.

What we photograph

The collection focuses on five subjects: insects and spiders, flowers, leaves and moss, water droplets, and textures and patterns. Each subject offers a different way to look at familiar things.

A leaf can show a network of fine veins. A butterfly wing can reveal a repeating pattern. A small drop of water can reflect the scene around it. Our photos bring these details into view.

Original photography

We publish photographs that we create and own. We retain copyright in the original images while offering the permissions described in our free photo license.

Photo titles, descriptions, and captions help explain what an image shows. If you spot an incorrect description or a possible identification error, please send us the photo page link so we can review it.

Photos for personal and commercial work

You can use covered photos in personal and commercial projects under our Image Usage and License terms. Examples include websites, blog articles, presentations, social posts, and printed designs.

The license allows editing and does not require credit. However, you cannot sell or redistribute the photo files themselves as stock images, downloadable packs, or a competing photo collection.

Clear download information

We want each photo page to help you choose a suitable file. Check its pixel dimensions, format, and download options before saving it. Available sizes depend on the original photograph, so every image does not necessarily have an 8K version.

If you need a different size or information about a particular photograph, contact us with its link. We can review the request without promising a file size or view that we do not have.
